There is an infographic doing the rounds that claims that @sagaftra.org's Best, Last, Final Offer from game developers gives actors everything we want, and we need to sign it to end the strike. I know the strike has been long and brutal and tempers are high. But this infographic Has Some Issues!

The generative AI protections as per the "last best offer" only apply to actors, not characters, so for instance a game dev could prompt an AI to voice some lines as Johnny Silverhand, but because they DIDN'T ASK FOR KEANU, the AI "didn't steal Keanu's voice", no matter how much it's clearly him.

The infographic says that 'reasonable description' and 'compensation is required' for generating a digital replica (AI) of an actor's voice, but 'reasonable' only refers to what the developer feels they need and compensation has no minimums, so what you can get paid is basically based on clout.

I think we need to get the loopholes closed and then we can talk about ending the strike. We haven't spent the last eight months holding the line to take half measures.
