Don't get a Lenovo P16 Gen 2 workstation laptop if you plan to carry it around, I guess 😑. It's a very powerful laptop, but it can still operate with all fans turned off in "power saver" mode. YET when you put it into sleep ("modern standby"), the fans turn back on! 🤯 1/3

Now, the premium Lenovo support was generally great. I've had technicians over who all shook their head in disbelief at how the machine behaved 😶. But now after half a year of back and forth, Lenovo have concluded that this insane behaviour is by design and that there is nothing they can do. 🤷2/3

I realize that Lenovo doesn't control the entire stack. There is only so much they can do at the OS level. But being unable to control system power draw in sleep either indicates incompetence or that sleep in modern PC laptops only works "by accident". @oxide.computer workstation laptop when? 😉3/3
