It’s #PortfolioDay which is one of my favorite days on the internet! I’ve found so many amazing artists to work with because of it. As a little reminder @magic.wizards.com now has an online portfolio submission tool! company.wizards.com/en/freelance... #wotcstaff

A few kind reminders for this process - This tool now stays open all year long! - There is no guarantee of work - This is for Magic, D&D, and Concept artists - Read and follow the directions if your portfolio is not uploaded correctly it can’t be looked at

We are looking for strong fundamentals in anatomy, mature rendering, materiality, use of color, proportions, figure-ground relationship, believable lighting, creative use of camera angles, etc. across a broad range of styles

What about maps? Should those artists use the same system?

Yes! When you fill out the form it will ask if you’re applying to D&D or Magic and ask your skills. Cartography and maps are included :)

In addition to final illustrations, we’re also looking for representative examples of your whole creative process from references, thumbnail sketches, color comps, roughs, etc.;it’s important to show that you can take feedback well and pivot direction as needed based on the vision of an art director

Is it helpful to highlight major points of feedback in the portfolio, or will this be apparent just seeing the differences between sketches and finals?
