"how can someone not at least find it interesting watching a whole planet shift geological ages in the blink of an eye?" Hear, hear!

It’s really remarkable. Most don’t even know what’s happening because they outsourced their critical thinking to the Times, the New Yorker etc But on a fundamental human level how can someone not at least find it interesting watching a whole planet shift geological ages in the blink of an eye?

We've jumped off the 100th floor, without a parachute or even a plan to build one on the way down. So, lets enjoy the wind rushing through our hair, the views into the windows we pass and the sun setting rapidly in the distance. Oooo, look, if I spread my arms I can fly!! #ClimateCatastrophe

If it were honest it would have a baseline at zero and maybe an arcsinh scale. But also a band showing the pre-industrial standard deviation or some windowed range. That's honest too.

As we smash into that brick wall in 2026, we will see the unfolding of the first El Hombre phase in the ENSO oscillation. El Niño and La Niña are gone - they’re the tame little calm cycles of our former climate.

There are no more El Niño or La Niña phases. They are the little children of our former calm climate. 2026 will see the first El Hombre followed by La Muher. They’re the grown-up extreme weather phases our new brutal climate will be unleashing.
