I guess final thoughts...like headliner cards...treat god packs as just a nice bonus you can potentially get...but...don't try to buy more packs in hoping you get one...you have a bad time.

God packs annoy me since they seem laser targeted at opening videos, but beyond that I think cutting foil Uncommons from regular packs kinda sucks. Even in commander there are tons of playable Uncommons, this is going to skyrocket the prices of foil ones…

It's a case of I don't love it, but, I don't hate it either tbh. While less cards in collector packs suck...the cards there taking out is usually the awkward draft chaft so.....I don't mind that much. For pauper players though...I can see this being annoying.

Still, really the only cynical take I have with this is the changes seem to cater more to the what-not product/pack opening creators then the overall health of the game...but...I don't think it be as harmful to the game in the long run.

For people who are worried about this causing scalping.....it probably won't for at least play boosters. The thing to keep in mind is with the way there changing the boosters, there in theory be more rares/mythics in the market, which means lower price on singles.

A primary tactic scalpers use is Fomo...and with how rare these god packs will be...it's really hard to sale on that along with the in theory cheaper prices on singles especially since they can have multiple print runs.

Collector boosters on the other hand...might be scalped due to the better chances along with them usually having only one print run...but....still, like headliner cards, you really should not buy something and presume you get it. Also, less cards in the packs might give people a sour taste.

Less cards is lame, full stop. They mention "we're not changing our prices!" while printing less product. "But it's just commons/uncommons" yeah, card that cost them the same amount to print as a rare so why take it out other than a cost saving measure? Also the "god pack congrats card" is dumb

Booster Pack wise I think getting Japan Showcases is a big upside, those are often some of the most chased cards. We'll have to see how the foil thing plays out. I feel like its probably fine, although if you are chasing the next Slime Against Humanity/Sphinx's Approach in foil, oof.
