y'all do not love men or like men, let alone young men. you treat them like incompetent failures when they're like 10 years old. feminists are the ones who ACTUALLY LIKE OR LOVE MEN bc they don't have a patronizing inability to take men seriously enough to hold them accountable and help them grow!

"I want to touch on what you said: .. the economic challenges facing young people impact men and women. One hundred percent true. But this is the bottom line, and I don’t think we like to admit this: Beyoncé could work at [KFC] and marry Jay-Z. The opposite is not true." I heard the record scratch.

Yeah, no, sorry. I saw this playbook with OG GamerGate. If guys are getting exposed to and upset by that shit it's because it's being shoved in their face by people who want to get them riled up, not by just stumbling across it in the wild.

Yeah, which means it isn't the fault of the Internet feminists anymore than modern transphobia is the fault of the random queer people LibsofTikTok harvests for her perpetual Two Minute Hate posts.

What are these TikTok feminists outside of a drawn out stereotype and what do they have to do with this conversation…? When I think about my brother he wasn’t exposed to left leaning content of any kind because the algorithm doesn’t gain anything from that.

ridiculous to watch us regress backwards from what the 20 year olds in my general vicinity were capable of in 2015, aka that men should be encouraged to develop emotional intelligence and should decenter themselves in favor of joining community. and now we're here bc of transphobia/misogyny. corny

i'm the eldest of 5, 3 are boys; the self esteem problems they've faced stem from how men (plus misogynists) talk about gender. it's not feminism! it's transphobia! it's white supremacy! stop fucking acting like men are being oppressed by anything but patriarchy! literally what year is it!

I hate the whole rhetoric of how we have failed men and I do not like Galloway at all. I do have experience with being treated differently for being a service industry worker in my 30s in the context of failed romantic pursuits but I don't want to draw it down strict gendered lines.

I'm self-conscious about bringing that experience up but it's real and before I left the industry it did make dating more difficult because I was seen as a failure but I don't want to blame an entire gender for it.

tooootally, so has [redacted young guy in my life] — I feel like that is also a byproduct of patriarchy and rigid gender roles which ofc can def be perpetuated by gender marginalized individuals

"Sit still, be a pleaser, raise your hand. You just described the activities that come more easily to a girl. Even push a pencil around, ask questions." Right. It's not like this has been school since forever. So why is it now that this is suddenly a problem?

Also can we talk about the racism of the theoretical scenario making the most successful black woman in the world a KFC employee??? Just making sure to hit all the bigot buttons with this take...

A friend who's the mother of two boys asked me for my opinion on how to raise them to be good men, since she thought that as a trans woman I'd have an interesting perspective. My advice was "hold them to the same standards you would a daughter".
