The project owners not putting much time into the project anymore; simultaneously, not accepting submissions from others that attempt to keep the project moving.

Most code isn't written for the casual contributor.

The biggest problem I see time and time again is when submitting an issue or PR or starting a forum discussion and never getting a response.

And SLAs. Yes, looking at you #Google 😒

Upstream not caring, upstream not liking my solution, reviews taking ages

Most of the projects I would love to support are in languages I can't crawl with. #workingOnIt

-They managing the project communications only using archaic tools like email. -Using annoying coding practices like Hungarian notation or files with 2000 lines of code. -My monitors setup being shit and my chair too.

I suck at coding and everything is just intimidating the more I look.

Honestly, I don't/can't code. I am great at documentation, but I find onboarding is spotty... Mostly it's "clone our repo and look for mistakes"... I personally need a bit more direction than that. 🤷
