I confronted Elizabeth Holmes before Nathan Fielder did. 😜 In 2019 she was hiding out in SF when we got a tip that led to this wild story. My takeaway after watching #YouCanSeeEverything: Nathan Fielder is a genius. This film will win ALL the awards. There’s a severe lack of Chapstick in prison.

I'm not sure if up to watch this because I find her to be insufferable. What's even worst is that - like Trump and George Santos, she'll welcomed back into the fray. These grifters never go away.

she's positioning herself for an early release. DOJ recently approved her move to a halfway house in August 2027. Billy's busy lining up the next tranche of victims. this time - Laser beams!!

Believe me, after the research we did into her before my confrontation and the people we interviewed about the money or careers they lost, I’m no fan of hers. But I think the documentary blows the lid off of her carefully crafted narrative. It’s definitely worth watching!

Lisa, I haven't seen this film yet but I hear the reviews have been off the charts. Does it "humanize" Elizabeth or does it like rip the band aid and reveal all the crap that she pulled.

Exactly. I think she was completely shocked that her cover was blown. But I’m so glad I got to ask her some tough questions at a time when she thought she could avoid them.

"Is your voice real or are you faking it?" is the question we had all been wanting Elizabeth to be asked, and you were the first to ask her! (The answer turned out to be Yes she was faking it!)

And yes, that’s her boyfriend Billy Evans at the top of my story walking with her and he hilariously ditches Elizabeth when he sees our cameras and leaves her alone to twist in the wind. Especially funny after you watch the film and get a measure of the man. 🤣

That's amazing, Lisa. I gotta say, I thought I was a pretty good writer and reporter -- good enough to get in the AppleTV UConn doc lol -- but I could never have done that kind of work. I did not have that kind of fearlessness that it takes to do that. It's really impressive to have that courage.

Thanks, Jeff. I loved doing confrontations so much. The courage it takes to do this comes from the knowledge that I am helping victims and survivors of crimes and scams. Accountability journalism is the best!

I do remember doing a story in 2004 about an AAU coach who was sexually abusing his players, and I got a lot of praise for the story, it helped people and I was grateful that I did a good job reporting it, but I hated every second of working that story. Just completely out of my comfort zone.
