A reminder that anyone can easily create accounts which impersonate others. Those accounts can create fake lists which spread lies and misinformation. Remember to be vigilant and not immediately trust anyone claiming to represent us or be partnered with us.

Last night, at 02:13 UTC, an account by the name of openai.bluesky.bot began adding followers of listifications to a list. The list claimed to opt its members into the scraping of their posts to be used for AI training, it also implied that we were partnered with them. This was 100% false.

That list and account have since been suspended by BlueSky. Likely thanks to many of you reporting them (thank you!) This means you won't be notified about this list any longer.

Just to be clear, we do not use any of your data for AI training and we are not partnered with OpenAI. We also have no plans to use your data for any purpose other than to deliver notifications. Our app is even designed specifically to store as little data as possible to avoid costs.

It is important to note that BlueSky is an open and decentralised social network. This means that all of your posts, likes, blocks, lists and other public actions can be easily accessed by anyone. One of the reasons we have created this app is to educate people about this. For more info see below:
