Why do we even teach kids that swear words are bad? It's kinda totally stupid

For multiple reasons. But mostly because swear words have heavy meanings that kids can't grasp.

So what is the heavy meaning of "damn"?

i think it makes more sense to teach how to use them. then they can swear properly, like when they scrape a knee

I think it's mostly because a ton of adults don't like to hear kids swear

I mean, my mom didn't teache that they were "bad words" only that they're "grown up words" And my autistic ass just accepted that when I was 2

It's one of the many cultural lies, swear words are not bad, they are just words, 'shit' doesn't mean anything 'crap' or even 'poop' doesn't. Words are words are words are just words, words only have power if we give them power, don't like the power they have, take it away.

Man I don’t know what I’m going to do with my niece once she gets to talking. Cleaning up my language is going to be hard as shit.

You can always blame others. When she was five, my niece once shouted at my brother the equivalent of "help me, you bastard, you fag bastard". We worked out she could only have heard in the school canteen, from the older kids (in an area with a shocking high tolerance for swearing).

HEY! Language

We (mostly me) were pretty relaxed with swearing around my niece when she was a baby. That was, until she told a bumblebee to fuck off.

did it, though?
