dude if you get upset over seeing a pup hood you need to fucking grow up lmao. "but what about the children????" It's A Dog Hat You Fucking Moron. It's A Hat Shaped Like A Dog. that's literally all there is to it. "but i think it's weird" i really don't care, keep it to yourself

kids love pretending to be animals. I don't think you even have to explain much?

it keeps coming up! whens there gonna be an email reveal containing a poorly typed "my calendar says to start the pup hood argument again , "

"don't wear kink gear in public, regardless of whether or not it actually shows anything" ok so you will also get upset at seeing people in... wetsuits, sneakers, hazmat suits, high heels, tennis socks, helmets, boots, mtx gear,... right? RIGHT? Because a ton of people get off on all of that too

i mean. makeup is explicitly designed to accentuate "attractive" features

yeah i mean pointing out the hypocrisy of Normal Straight Sex things being literally everywhere all the time while even the tamest examples anything beyond that are demonized has been done over and over lol

if we’re being honest there’s a pretty clear difference between “thing made specifically for kink” and “thing that’s purpose is to accentuate attractiveness” and “thing that has a purpose but people have kinks related to it” and a pup hood falls in the first category while sneakers are in the third

You can say that about ANYTHING, people get turned on by sequins, shoes, high heels, makeup, hair, tattoos, skinny bodies, chunky bodies, amputations, glasses, denim, fur, EVERYTHING is something to somebody, if we went by these rules the pride parades would be an empty street (+)

Even then, someone probably gets turned on by pavements or roads, so it’d just be a blank screen! I hate that this is still considered something to be debated, kink MADE pride what it is today, you wouldn’t have ANYTHING if it wasn’t for the leather community supporting everyone

I mean I'd even argue that at its core, a pup hood in particular isn't really *for* anything beyond personal expression/style and signalling that you're part of a group/subculture tbh but also yeah i can't see the harm in having to go "it's a dog hat, they wear it because they like it" lol

i cant take "but what about kids" in good faith anymore. its been a cudgel for breaking up queer spaces for more than half a century. it's your job as a parent to explain things to kids. it is as simple as saying "because they want to wear them." if youre taking a kid to a con floor do your work

yeah like. a kid will treat seeing a pup hood the same as seeing someone wearing a really loud shirt or a weird jacket or whatever. they don't have any context that would make them treat it any different.

you can ask people you know not to wear something that makes you uncomfortable, but demanding the general public to do that (and making horrible character judgements based on it)...
