dude if you get upset over seeing a pup hood you need to fucking grow up lmao. "but what about the children????" It's A Dog Hat You Fucking Moron. It's A Hat Shaped Like A Dog. that's literally all there is to it. "but i think it's weird" i really don't care, keep it to yourself

"don't wear kink gear in public, regardless of whether or not it actually shows anything" ok so you will also get upset at seeing people in... wetsuits, sneakers, hazmat suits, high heels, tennis socks, helmets, boots, mtx gear,... right? RIGHT? Because a ton of people get off on all of that too

if we’re being honest there’s a pretty clear difference between “thing made specifically for kink” and “thing that’s purpose is to accentuate attractiveness” and “thing that has a purpose but people have kinks related to it” and a pup hood falls in the first category while sneakers are in the third

I mean that depends a hell of a lot on who exactly is around you. all clothing/fashion is situational - there’s times and places for everything and we’re constantly discussing and reevaluating those circumstances

I mean yeah there's times and places for everything but I don't think it's a moral issue. I wouldn't wear a pup hood to a formal job interview the same way I wouldn't wear a graphic band tee and cargo pants

yeah my problem is people treating it as a moral issue lol i don't really care if anyone personally does not like it or whatever but don't make it my problem. keep it to yourself the same way you would keep it to yourself when you don't like someone's skinny jeans

yeah, although tbh if i was wearing a pup mask in public and a parent asked if i could take it off cuz it’s scaring their kid I’d probably do it, because it’s not some big hassle for me while dealing with upset kids is a hell I do not wish on other people

if it's scaring them, sure. but that's the same with fursuits and literally anything else like that lol claiming that kids being exposed to someone wearing a pup hood is an issue of kink/consent though.. c'mon. they have literally 0 context or room for interpretation beyond "it's a dog mask"

yeah, i just don’t like that some people respond to “please don’t bring kink gear here” with “pup hoods aren’t kink gear, they’re just dog masks!” feels very much like playing “i’m not touching you”

yeah idk i just don't think there are very many public places where "please don't bring kink gear here" is actually warranted when it should just be "please don't wear anything too revealing" at most lol
