Yearly reminder to inspect your PSP's battery and discard it if it became swollen

This is undoubtedly a 'it depends on your area' question, but is there a somewhat reliable place to take batteries for disposal in the US?

In the UK, you can take used batteries to supermarkets and they'll dispose of them for you. Not sure about the US, though.
