Wild how some people on discord see fit to randomly add you as a friend having never even once interacted with you just to ask you for help in DMs when they could easily just ask their question in any one of many channels in the very server this is happening in. And to top it off, they DM "hello."

then they ask you something answered in FAQs or that is the top search result on google🍷. bonus points if they proceed to then never message you again after getting what they want

i'd say it makes sense when you don't know what mutual servers you share and you directly state your question (assuming you reboke the request once you get their dms) also assuming there's no other way to contact this person

I'd be fine if they were actually trying to contact *me*, or otherwise if maybe at the very least they'd state their question in first message. But really what's going on is they want a private helper. This is a programming support discord server and it happens all the time.
