This looks great! 🤩 ...but from a nerd perspective, very curious how you decide the *correct* color? Even just converting from rgb555 has some nuance, before getting into the display intent, gamma, etc.

I coded my own tool that lets me preview both GBA and SNES preview screenshots, and pick carefully the corresponding color from the SNES picture. It is a very tedious process and can take hours to get a good result in a stage.
