I’m not gonna lie. When you lay out the current state of ES Modules and what it means for package authors, it kinda makes me wish we’d just stuck with CJS.

I discussed this with Eemeli Aro in one of the Frontend Greatness podcasts, and the amount of pitfalls is staggering.

CJS is totally okay

Is it just because of the poor compatibility between ESM and CJS in Node.js, or is it also because of missing or bad features specific to ESM?
