I submitted a short article to the NIH call for information about adding metrics to judge science (🤮🤮🤮 for all the reasons in the book plus Goodhart’s law plus metrics measure only commoditized, non-creative work). I will post a version of that this week if people are interested.

Responding to overall thread more than this post - for those not already aware, I think The Score by C Thi Nguyen helps explain part of this drive to remove qualitative assessment from measurement of many aspects of human performance.
