Post

Okay folks, this morning we launched our Kickstarter campaign for our new *amazing* card game, One Billion Users. You can back it here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/mma...

In the game you get to run your own social media network, and compete against others. You try to grow your user base, attract influencers, and deal with various problems that crop up like, say, your servers being overloaded (what would anyone know about that?) www.kickstarter.com/projects/mma...

The game is loosely based on a 1906 card game called Touring, which has been replicated a few times, including in the game Milles Bornes, which became super popular in the 1950s and is still popular today. But we've taken that base and made a bunch of fun changes. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mma...

This was flying under my radar until I saw your post. I'm a backer now. Good luck!

Slightly off-topic: is Techdirt content CC?

Public domain! Everything we do is public domain. Do whatever you want with it.

Thanks. Enjoying your work for many years. Might translate to Hebrew. May I suggest you add a public domain notice in the footer and ToS?

What would you suggest one does if not in one of the listed countries? (France, which I'm guessing is not coming soon to this list)

It might... we've had a few requests for it...

I suppose there's always sending it an American friend as emotional blackmail to visit me in Bordeaux.

Just backed you for 10 copies... these will make great gifts for our staff :-)

That's great! Are you shipping to France?

We have now added the ability to ship to France!

Also, I want to emphasize that the game is crazy fun. Sometimes I feel like people think the games we produce are designed to be "educational" and therefore that can make them boring. While I don't think that's true, this game was about *starting* with a very fun premise and making it even better.

As with the last card game we produced years ago, we're doing this in REAL Kickstarter fashion. The game only gets produced if enough people back it, and this will likely be the *only* printed run of the game. So if you want it... www.kickstarter.com/projects/mma...

There are a lot more details on the campaign page, but over the next few weeks I'll try to share a few more details of what's in the game (and even how you can play as sites you love, like here, or sites you hate... like the other place). www.kickstarter.com/projects/mma...

Oh you’re into board game too? Nice. I’ve backed or $1 as when converted to Aussie dollars and including shipping the price of the game is just too high for me, about $73 AUD which for a game this size is very expensive. All the best with the campaign
