How long will it take for this Act to be legally challenged on a Constitutional basis, and will that challenge win?

There is a way to achieve the correct outcome here, but I don't think this is it. Probably not the time either. We do need some measures against hate speech and disinformation, but I just don't know what that looks like. It is not a domestic issue anyways. The problems come from Russia and China.

Why? If asked, what would a Dem rep say???

I wrote to @adamschiff.com, one of my Senators and a co-sponsor of the bill, to urge him to try to revise the bill in conference committee or else vote against it before it can go to the President. I threw in an email to Sam Liccardo in the House, for good measure.

Noble reasoning & not a damn bit of sense of how this shit works in the real world, just like FOSTA/SESTA & attacks on Section 230. No gotdang sense.

Nothing more reliable than Democrats' eager willingness to shoot themselves in the foot with a bazooka. 🤦‍♂️

Maybe Republicans hope the inevitable court battle will distract from the massive Medicaid cuts they plan to push through to pay to Trump's tax cuts for the rich.
