A short update for those who are wondering. I have stopped posting on a whim a few months ago, because constant interaction made me feel stressed out. Turns out, I like it and feel much better. I am still around and doing fine, but will probably not post a lot anymore.

I find I feel perfectly happy just reading and not sending. I have no idea why, but it is not because things are bad. They are, in fact, fine. I am enjoying my life and the things and people in it. I also still enjoy reading your posts. But for now, silence is preferable. Be well :).

What I miss about the old internet is finding something fun was yours and your small forum niche group for a while. Now that period is maybe 30 minites and then it's plugged in all socials. The current web has zero coziness.

It’s so depressing that something so rare and expressive of human history and wisdom, that would be a prized possession if only I could afford it, is treated either as trash or a competitor product that must be destroyed by these obscenely wealthy parasites.

We put a tracking device in a shipment of rare books acquired by an anonymous buyer. It ended up at an Amazon facility where the company scans books for training data and destroys them in the process: www.404media.co/we-tracked-a...

there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.

Frankly, I am very much against the death penalty because I believe in redemptive justice. It is a cornerstone of civilised society.

blow 🦇@diva.zone

there's been a surge in support for the death penalty again, but people forget that we're not against the death penalty because we think evil people don't deserve to die, we're against it because the government having the power to kill someone they deem guilty can be abused by whoever is in power
