They are mentally conditioned and programmed to, family values. Though my father advised me to register Republican at age 18, to have a say in their primaries by voting for a lesser evil. Then vote for whomever for the general election. I did that for my first 10 years.

Yep, it happened in my PA semi-rural township, 50miles outside Phila. A moderate Repub ran against a Maga for Twp Sup. She lost GOP primary by < 25 votes, but won a write-in to win the Democratic primary. She won the election, but has to work with the other 2 Maga Sup. One of which is a bully.

Honestly, pretty surprising so I’d say 7. I didn’t grow up in fort pierce but a little further south in Martin county, which is like the East Coast version of Sarasota. St Lucie County as a whole is red though…

Real estate values in Ft. Pierce City just went up! Florida is a purple state that has been gerrymandered into a red state. The republicans have been in charge for the last 30 years and it has become entirely unaffordable for working people and families. Public education will be gone soon as well.

Wonderful! Florida finally waking up to the reality that decades of Republican rule of the "Sunshine State" turned it into Mecca for only the uber-rich & famous. Finally, the 99% have seen the light & voted for their own SELF-INTERESTS. #FloridaStrong

Says alot about ppl that voted for a Republican in this election. Just never mind What Trump and the GOP is doing, just keep voting for them even if ppl's rights are being violated.

In 2026, Trump and what passes for a Republican Party nowadays are so incompetent with their disastrous policies that they are going to bring a blue deluge on top of their heads in almost all levels of government that will make a blue tsunami look like a light spring drizzle.

As a native of one of north Florida's blue islands, I know this is BIG for Ft. Pierce. It is an hopeful sign for Florida when paired with Miami electing the first Dem mayor in 30 years. (I still won't move back unless my siblings need me to be closer.)

The previous Republican, James Taylor, won ~61% of the vote in this district. He was arrested for felony charges of an inappropriate internet relationship with a 12-year-old and child porn in July. www.tcpalm.com/story/news/l... floridapolitics.com/archives/748... ballotpedia.org/James_A._Tay...

I grew up there. This is a red are. I have since moved to a blue state in the north east but Fort Pierce is in my opinion of the readiest parts of south east Florida. It’s honestly shocking but very encouraging that a democrat won there, something is happening.
