I don’t like rabid quite as much as shivers or the brood, but this era of cronenberg is a vibe. I like that they all take place in winter because of how the canadian funding cycles worked

canadian slasher starring samantha eggar (the brood). it starts with such a promising premise in the first 15 minutes but then it doesn’t really connect to the rest of the movie. I like the snowy winter setting tho

rollin continues to be good at turning european castles and ruins into movies. this one was different in that it had a campy scooby doo tone I didn’t expect, with hippie vampires

similar to other jean rollin films I’ve seen - pretty bad writing but I love the dreamy aesthetic. great shots and locations. final scene made me queasy lol
