Some of y'all don't understand that learning a new skill or hobby takes time and you're so corrupted by short form algorithms and instant gratification that you can't fathom spending a few weeks to learn the basics and would rather ask a computer or corporation to do it for you instantly.

How often are you sitting there scrolling mindlessly on your phone watching stupid "POV: that one kid in class" videos when you could be learning how to do that hobby that you keep putting off or learning how to format an email so you don't have to ask ChatGPT to do it for you.

Do you know how much free knowledge is available on the internet? You don't even have to put down the phone you're addicted to, man. Train your brain to have the attention span for longer form content. Stop watching things on 2x speed and putting multiple forms of content on at once.

I say this all as someone who still actively is scrolling tiktok and instagram reels daily. I am also fighting against the poisoning of short form content and am actively working to fix my attention span.

It really is a struggle but we can do it! I've managed to stop scrolling tiktok and similar things, but I still do get stuck scrolling socials and I watch YouTube shorts like regular YouTube videos without getting stuck scrolling them. It's a process!

It's a process! It is so easy to get addicted to short form content, especially since it's literally DESIGNED to get you addicted, but small steps can help undo it and get your time and energy back into more worthwhile things.
