The Trump DOJ said fighting sex trafficking was a “top priority.” Then they gutted the resources needed to actually fight it.

If only there was a connection between the president and an infamous sex trafficker that would lead to a breakthrough here. Maybe you should share your reporting with some kind of elected official though.

Federal sex-trafficking charges just hit their slowest pace since 2010. Only 73 people were charged through June, about 22% below the average of the past three years.

Why did this happen? Agents were pulled into immigration enforcement, experienced trafficking prosecutors left in unusual numbers, and grants that help keep victims safe and stable enough to testify were delayed or frozen.

im sure thats just a coincidence that the president in charge of all of this was publicly friends with epstein for years, let epstein die while in federal custody, is still illegally not releasing all the epstein files, and is constantly accepting bribes from other people in epstein’s files

Some investigations have effectively stalled, and new cases are rarely being opened. So where did the “law and order” firepower go?

Trump’s DOJ closed more than 23,000 criminal cases in its first six months, while shifting resources toward immigration enforcement.

Not to mention the "drain the swamp" people have deleded the government's registry on shell company ownership, a database law enforcement uses to investigate money laundering and corruption.

Same thing with all of the Trump administration's noise about election integrity. They're so concerend about it that they gutted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

Makes sense. Their AAG in charge of the civil rights division spends all of her time trying to disenfranchise anyone who's not white.
