Woohoo! What a beautiful graphic to either start or end a book with… (Hm… I feel a strong urge to buy a shirt that says "YAM" on it.) But *now* I'm thinking about a Japanese translation of Minion!!—it'd be fun, but it might absolutely suck to make/modify a JP font to preserve the fun lettering.

i have for a long time been a fan of the chapter-guide pages max graves uses for social media uploads of what happens next, which simultaneously act as a “you’re reading the wrong way!” page and an identifier of the chapter’s central viewpoint character. really cute and artful!

also god the fucking YAM thing. that has been living rent-free in my head for like 20 years. every time i see an English-character graphic tee in a manga i half-expect it’s going to say MAY. someday i will find out what comic had the yam shirt

I noticed after my comment the little apology to Graves—I'm not familiar with his work, so the second I see a warning in a comic with a stop sign, I went straight to MAY/YAM. But I can see the appeal in the content warning–style page, too!
