Are there virtual options? I’m currently an underemployed dev who is trying to meet people/companies working on actually sustainable and useful projects for my next position. Would love to be able to link up with the crowd for this bc it seems like the type of stuff I’m interested in being around!

No worries. If there’s any kind of list/place for networking you know of for people who want to be normal and cool in tech, I would definitely be interested haha

definitely come to Monktoberfest in Portland, Maine, first week of October if you can. Full of normal, cool tech people. Generally we've been super lucky to sustain a community like that around our company, RedMonk.
