My attitude on this is that I'm not calling them because I think I can change their minds. I'm calling them because it is unthinkable to let them do this without hearing how evil and awful they are. My spite powers me. If I can get just 500 people a day to join me, we could fuck up their day.

I call Tommy Tuberville every fucking week, multiple times a week, because he can be evil but I don't have to let him do it without pushback. So I don't need to hear excuses. I call the dumbest senator in the country. 😂

I would also like to point out my messages to Tuberville are just ridiculous. I just ended this one "Anyway, please mark me down as hating all of this and wishing you had a spine. Thanks!"

I don't read the scripts because I'm not calling to convince them, and also I'm terrified of phones and vaguely queasy when I have to make phone calls anyway. I just call before I can stop myself and blurt out my strong objections in whatever words fall from my mouth. It can be that easy!

I am blocking people who reply to argue about making calls pretty liberally. I block liberally in general. Not because I think people who disagree with me are wrong, but because fighting with strangers about what they should be doing on the internet is not my path. bsky.app/profile/most...

I will admit that I have reached a point where I'm blocking anyone who is even mildly annoying to me re: politics. Not because they're bad, or they shouldn't be doing what they're doing (god knows plenty of productive things annoy me for various reasons) but b/c we're on different paths & that's ok!

Someone replied to me explaining to me across multiple posts that making calls was wasting time I should have been using to do direct action. 1) hilarious you think I can't do both 2) my call took less time than your posts. go do direct action instead? Anyway. Be chill. Or be gone.
