every time I see that "what if video games 100% personalized to me" post go by, I think about how you sports weirdos have gotten so agitated over sports events that I *went and tried to watch baseball* just for the joy of experiencing it with you, and I wonder what it is like to not feel that.

And that's bloody impressive because one thing baseball is *not* is ADHD-friendly. Autism friendly, sure. There is a reasonable Things Happen to Time Elapsed ratio for autism-dominant brainwiring! (My AuDHD is autism-dominant, heh.)

This is one of the GenAI-era things that makes me feel most like I'm sharing the planet with aliens. I literally can't comprehend wanting or enjoying any artistic/cultural product that is "100% personalized", and video games especially so.

like when It Happens, being on bluesky is going to be like doing infinity drugs all at once, we're gonna be losing our god damn minds in a collective community experience, and I hate that on top of trying to erase our communal facts now they even want to erase our communal fiction.

The main reason I miss broadcast tv and an episode a week are discussions during and after when it felt like a communal experience. And now they want to do away with what little we still have. They bitch about the loneliness epidemic then want everything personalized and don't get the connection.

I grew up with baseball on radio, only rarely on TV, so I'm used to seeing it in my head. It isn't so much fun in person. (I've been to a couple of actual games. Listening to the guys in front of us discussing how much alcohol they would need for a wedding reception...)
