Getting ready for my quarterly "i have to go look at my doctor in person and ask to be allowed to take my adhd meds for another 3 months" appointment which costs me extra copay money and time and also executive function, but it's good to know I'm not...... idk recklessly refilling my adhd meds

at least I can go to my doctor's website and request a new refill each month instead of calling in, but the fact that I'm not even allowed to have a single automatic refill on the "meds for people who will forget to request new meds every month" meds is also frustrating

I really hope no one ever again has to know the pain of having to keep track of a physical paper prescription for two months so you can get it filled at the pharmacy later because it was illegal for them to hold it for you

Dealing with this with my son every month has been so frustrating over the last decade and change. I hate everything about the process for him to, yanno, be able to focus on school.

I was just thinking about how it is also added trouble for parents, man. Like it's hard for those of us diagnosed as an adult because we don't have anyone with better function to navigate it for us, but also parents DON'T NEED MORE SHIT TO DEAL WITH EITHER

And considering it runs in families, there's a solid chance the parent(s) also have ADHD, so yay, extra things to deal with for people who probably have issues with executive function

Mr Cal has to get Gup’s meds every month because the state of Tennessee absolutely will NOT accept that I am filling vyvanse for myself AND my child

It has gotten easier from when he was first diagnosed. We used to have to go pick up his prescription form IN PERSON and hand deliver it to the pharmacy every month. Now it's electronic transfer but we have to call. Last time, it took three weeks because of technology snafus.

I've had to hassle mine, but generally they're good. (SSRI. It works, well enough, but not as well as it could.) Saw them last week. Mostly got PAs-in-training, but Not A Problem.

ADHD meds that you can only have a tiny window of a few days to get a refill of before you run out so you have basically no time to deal with any complications like running out of refills or insurance doing stupid insurance things It was way easier to end up with a 2+ month stockpile of insulin

And the worst is when your doc puts in the script a tiny bit too early and then you have to call cvs to try and get them to take the hold off when it can be refilled, but the phone bot won't put you through to someone who can actually do that.

My son's usually runs out on a weekend so I get the script sent from the doctor on Thursday and then nag the pharmacy to fill it Sunday. He would never be able to do this.

God that sucks. I'm sorry. Ours is 6 months, and post lockdowns they're letting us do more of this stuff via telehealth, which has been hugely useful because I lose a full day if I'm going in in person. Can only imagine how disruptive it is for you.

Fun times with ALs new medical marijuana rules, I can't get my 3rd dose bag because one of the previous ones weighed like a gram too much so I don't have an allotment amount to cover the full final bag just 99%of it.

My appointment is tomorrow. I have been getting some push back from one of the nurses about sending the refill reminders too early so I am a bit nervous
