I am now on book #7 and I regret to inform all of you who told me that the books got worse that I actually think they're getting better. Or maybe I'm just way more interested in intergalactic politics than I am in loot boxes. 🤣

they definitely got MUCH better. somewhere book 6 or 7 i was like “did he finally get an editor?”

ha! yes. i didn’t mean on a developmental or focus type of editing, but his individual sentences and paragraphs got much more nicely written. the first few books, he would reuse the exact same pattern in paragraphs over & over and he stopped that entirely in the final ~3 books.

that’s the sort of thing i’d fix when i do copy editing. i’ve never had a novel edited obviously

ahhhh. yeah, whatever changed on that front was not annoying me to begin with in audio format, clearly.
