when you realize that general midi was also meant to be used with PC games of the era, the included sound effects make more sense

Even then, "here are the seven sound effects that are enough for every game in existence, one of which can only be used in combination with a slow pad" is kind of ? ? ?

Still justifiable compared to one of the synth lead slots being wasted on an instrument that can only play fifths, though
