Personally I always thought PC ports (or the trendy name "recomps") were kind of a slop concept even when they were human made. There's no real reason why the same game enhancements should get 100x the attention when implemented as one, but ignored when done as a romhack or emulator enhancements

Note: this is not at all referring to the decompilation projects that they derive from, those were and still are very cool

It seems that many people look down or even outright ignore emulation for reasons I don't quite understand. For instance how many times have I heard people say that some retro game "can't be easily played anymore" because it wasn't natively ported to modern HW.
