If he hadn’t pardoned Nixon, I’d be cool with him naming a post office after himself.

Gerald Ford vetoed naming a post office after himself.

Nah, he did the right thing. No naming buildings for live politicians. It's bad enough they get credit for highways. Come to think of it, every mile of highway should be named for a different member of the road crew.

I agree. I suspect that the late Ted Stevens from Alaska would have wanted nothing to do with MAGA either. His little scandal toward the end of his life seems so quaint now. He was great friends with Democrat Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, and Joe Biden gave a eulogy at his funeral.

Respectfully, a former president in the dock would have been a nightmare of epic proportions. Plus, with a pardon comes an admission of guilt. At the same time, Trump has set the stage for reconsideration as regards any according of such grace to him.

Ford was never regarded as one of the brightest bulbs in the Republican party. HIs pardoning Nixon & bringing this sordid chapter to the nation's politics to a close was most likely done in good faith on his part. Alas, he circumvented another important element of the American legal system, justice.

I understand how you feel. I wasn’t happy when he did it, but came to believe that Nixon was told he’d be pardoned so resigned. The only sure way he’d leave office.

Yeah, the pardon for nixon was not a cool move but this one almost made up for it! trump delusionally thinks that his name is going to stay on all the things that he thinks he owns! The only places that his name will stay is as the "Most Corrupt public official EVER" and the bottom of the urinal!
