Hearing more and more stories about companies reprimanding employees for *not* using AI. Don't think I've ever seen new tech forced so much down people's throats.

Some companies try to track AI usage by checking peoples prompt history and such. You'd have to imvest time and effort to make up plausible conversations that you then ignore and do the real work yourself. That's like humoring a toddler on the side (which ironically I currently do as well)

You’re right: only a fool would respond by vibe coding an agent to execute realistic-sounding prompts at a frequency statistically unlikely to arouse suspicion. From a deckchair.

The marketing is that it makes employees more efficient, which of course, you want you employees to be. They also poke at it, and it does amazing things, so clearly the marketing is true. Of course, most actual evidence so far is to the contrary, but that requires effort to find.

I thought when they found the first hallucinated cases cited in front of a judge that it would be embarrassing enough to stop. Turns out nope.

Imagine doctors being told most of their diagnosis has to be based on a magic 8ball, or they're fired. Thats what they're doing to bigcorp software devs.

I'm lucky enough to run my own company, but if I was looking for work and this was a requirement, I wouldn't know how to handle it.

Environmental concerns aside (which are grave and awful) it's a speed up if you use it as as a tool. You don't need to ask it to decide things, you can just make it do your typing for you. It works best when you do the architecture, it does the syntax
