Almost shrugged off what turned out to be a genuine interview request because of this very thing. As a writer and publisher, I'm getting AI-generated spam wanting to give me a loan, buy out my company, for a cost get me in front of book clubs, on podcasts, etc., constantly.

Actual human persons contacting authors about podcasts, appearances, or really anything at all...thanks to the flood of AI bullshit in our inboxes, please be as informal as possible in your emails or begin with a DM. Otherwise we're likely to assume you're a bot.
