Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Our collective ability for self delusion. Social media has allowed humanity to truly optimize the art of closing our eyes, ignoring the flashing warning lights & convincing ourselves that everything will be totally fine. Looking at you mid-term believers.

Then there is the immediate corollary... The massive upgrade in our disinformation tools and techniques. AI has effectively elevated mass manipulation into a form of performance art and business is booming.

Are you not relieved I didn't say AI democratized disinformation for the masses? Well to be fair, social media and the podcast got there first. All these got better in my life time. Oh wait, there's the phone. Brb. SO, apparently Michael was unclear. He meant "made life better for humanity"
