Nah people were turned off by other stuff and chose to moan about toots because moan. It's totally fine that they didn't get on with Mastodon, mind! I do wish there was some other cute post name we could all agree on though.

I don’t think that a term that was sexual for two seconds 10 years ago mostly because of a rap song should stop anyone. People are mature enough to know we’re not talking about jizzing

The time I was using it, they said not to use toots, and were calling them posts. Didn’t save any thing. I would prefer it not have a silly name, to help it gain traction, but really I don’t care. If it is skeets it is skeets.

posts obvi, clever name not needed but proto's woulda been relevant and cool. seems like there's a million better choices than skeet. there's also no reason to try and mimic terms from Twitter. just makes us look like we still love the other site.

yeah its a fair point, they're just posts really. pretty sure everything will naturally settle on a reasonable name in the end though (probably posts)
