It kind of boggles me how unremarked upon it is that online gambling became such an omnipresent thing. Not trying to judge anyone into it one way or the other, but if you handed me $500 and told me to lose it as quickly as possible, I’m walking out of the nearest LEGO store a very happy man.

The new season of Michael Lewis podcast is all about how the ban on sports gambling got overturned and how gambling has changed since then. Its really good.

alternate world where instead of every store getting a buy now pay later widget every store got a widget where you can gamble for a chance to receive the items in your cart

If I’m doing something morally gray that involves money for bricks, it’s be $100 to get that amount off of aliexpress

Amazing to me that more people don't see the risks of having gambling be so accessible. I think gambling should be legal but it shouldn't be super easy to do. Like, you can only place bets from a sanctioned establishment. Not just reach into your pocket and bet on a whim.

I haven't really fully dug into what the limitations/design are of the online apps, but yeah, the very idea itself seems less than ideal to me.
