I was never a MU* developer, but I was an admin on a few, and I still own tinymush.com (don't ask me why, I'm not sure myself). I've toyed with the idea of modernizing something and digging out one of my old DB backups, but never quite got around to it.

Partly because the MU*s I was involved in were far more social than gaming/RP. Those databases aren't just world data; they're other people's writing, relationships, and history. There's the little ethical problem of resurrecting all that into some kind of zombie bastardization.

Software archaeology is considerably less romantic when the ruins may contain your own teenage dialogue.
