If you’re a Democrat with an email address or a phone, you get these pleas: A candidate needs your dollars. Democracy needs your dollars. It doesn’t have to be much—but it can’t be nothing. But where does your donation actually go? trib.al/skt74iy

trib.alHow the Consulting Class Is Eating the Democratic PartyFundraising costs gobble up most of the funds raised. Billions are spent on TV ads that have virtually no impact. Candidates may win or lose—but the consulting class always wins.

First, fuck off. We are literally fighting for the soul of America now. The timing of this is bullshit. We all know the Democratic Party needs to clean up its dependence on the corporate/oligarchical/elite class. Priorities = 1. win 2. clean up the Party. Not mutually exclusive.

First of all, it’s incredibly deranged to be mad reporters are doing their jobs during an election season. Secondly, it kind of seems relevant to winning elections that Democrats are burning 75% of their small dollar donations to parasitic elites.

Dude, you literally made them mutually exclusive in the first half of your post and then ended by saying they're not mutual exclusive. I guess you don't know what mutually exclusive means?

I purposefully never donate based off the damn spam txts. It makes me not want to donate at all, to see that's the majority of what im funding when i do donate. What an absolute disaster on budgeting for how to use funds.

I get 10-20 texts/day from candidates all over the country. I never donate thru any of them. I delete them and report as spam. Annoying. If someone were to donate to a candidate for the 1st time and then be bombarded like this, I could easily see it turning them off from ever donating again.

Replying stop removes you from that individual mailing list but marks your number as being live and responsive which makes it more valuable and they will sell it to more people. Don't respond. Block is spam

I don't need a single advertisement, text message, phone call, billboard, social campaign, etc to decide who to vote for. None of those things by the alternatives is likely to impact my vote.
