As of now, only a small part on the western coast near Latakia and Tartous hasn't turned rebel green yet. But this is likely to happen within 24-48 hours. I wonder what the Russians have left in Tartous.

Proposal: A legislature selected by lot from the entire populace who appoints a neutral government. All religious & ethnic groups represented; + process monitoring. Far-fetched? Compared to the conflicts that will soon erupt… Sortition + deliberation + rotation demnext.org

#Sortition works everywhere! It would also work in #Syria. Various ethnic/religious rebel groups are currently competing for supremacy. They're not fighting for the Syrian people; they're fighting for themselves & their agenda. Let a representative sample of the Syrian people deliberate & decide!

Only those who have lived under a dictatorship can truly understand the profound joy of freedom that the Syrian people are experiencing right now. While the future of Syria remains uncertain, the world must offer the Syrian people both moral support and empathy as they navigate this new chapter.

Is there a new government? Assad's puppet prime minister didn't flee, but is now only a puppet of whomever controls Damascus, if anyone does. The civil war hasn't ended, it's just entered a new phase, with rebel factions fighting each other.
