Im guessing, russians are stuffed with propaganda that Ukrainians will torture and kill every russian who will surrender. Thats their usual MO - to blame others for the atrocities russians themselves commit.

Surrendering as a unit is a great deal safer than just about any other option, but I would not object to them turning around and walking east.

At the very least the village is now back in the grey zone, but attempt to reach Shakhove was an abject failure.

Indeed they are. The drones are another amazing tech employed by the Ukrainians, but the manpad missiles are not even FPV really. They are killing the tanks because of their portability, accuracy to target, and the tanks’ basic design flaws (slow moving and minimal armour on top).
