The Geran jet engines are huge infrared emitters. If a drone can close to a few hundred meters of a Geran, why not equip the drone with small heat seeking missiles with IR camera seekers? No seeker cooling needed, no all-aspect needed, solid propellant, 500m range, cheap

And re-usability

Is it possible to have the interceptor use a shotgun shell or similar to shoot the enemy drone so that the interceptor can return for reuse? That would be a lot more cost effective if it is possible.

That's huge. I hope it works well and can be iterated to huge production.
