Well, that's not gonna happen. It's why I would never do a "flashback" storyline about Beverly's dad dying. That still happened, but my approach to trauma in this comic is always gonna prioritize how people heal, and that it's possible to heal. I want people relating to that things CAN get better.

I am still expecting something traumatizing to happen in their near future

Ok when I read flashback I thought you meant showing how it went down, but now I realize you meant like that thing that happens to Trauma victims. Yeah no I totally respect that, too many cynical people wanna see broken people stay broken instead of them slowly healing.

A very nice change of pace from other things that always exclusively focus on everything going bad and that it could get worse, not that it could get better and how to handle it. We already get enough of that shit irl, why do we need it everywhere else?

I've never enjoyed fiction about bad things happening to someone because that happens enough in the real world and my experience with dysthemia has made me all too familiar with suffering. Seeing stories of people healing and growing in the aftermath is more powerful to me.

Much as I love a good dose of angst and "the trauma*tm" part of what has me always coming back to your comics is the fact that they're so light hearted and fun and are so much more focused on the healthy and positive aspects and I thank you so much for that breather from the troubles of the world ❤️

I read these comics for interesting, compelling, funny, and sometimes tragic dialogue and to have fun dipping into a world where the biggest problem is "The ex-union witch has a grudge against us and our dog"

That's awesome! I love the positivity you write, it's very refreshing. I had just convinced myself with modern storytelling tropes that something tragic was gonna happen. Thank you for the respite from the onslaught of bullshit in the world today, it's what keeps me coming back

Appreciate it, cynics don't need to work hard to convince me life is actually really difficult and getting worse these days xD need a little optimism now
