The political assassinations were on my mind all day while marching. We are marching against a regime that encourages violence on its behalf. In the face of that, we protested peacefully. Folks in these comments are working themselves into a tizzy over this headline and I don't know why.

LOL a squeaky tank in front of empty bleacher seats is an odd show of "dominance." The uncoordinated "marching" really instills fear... in Americans wondering if the military has lost all capability in parallel with the new DUI hiring policy at the Pentagon that put a drunk rapist at the helm.

Nope, I think the key feature of this parade is that it’s historically unprecedented. No previous US president has over the last 250 years felt a need to put on such a full authoritarian military parade as a “show of dominance”. That’s fact, not opposition opinion.

As I would hope your editors can tell you, putting two items in one sentence suggests that they are connected ideas. Are you intending to accuse protestors of the assassination? He was a right wing extremist.

Let me correct that for you- Trump is putting on a parade for dominance & to inflate his teeny tiny ego. The organizers are telling truth not accusing & sponsors of unity. Trump is continually sponsoring division. Stop beating around the bush, putting blame on others & tell it straight up.

With headline writing like that, NPR, the public isn't likely to want to support you. Not a good time to screw that up when you're about to lose fed funding. Unlike what you imply, the evangelical murdering Democrats was not participating in the anti-Trump protests. Pro editor here: do better.

Why are you connecting the peaceful pro-democracy protests planned months in advance to a political assassination caused by hateful violent rhetoric of the petty dictator and his cult party? This is journalistic malpractice.
