Pro tip: adding the word "Therapy" to a thing just takes the thing away from you and gives it to some third rate loser with a masters degree. Read the title as "Music <blank> is as effective as ..." Also, "equine therapy" is just riding horses. And on and on.

Your PT is analogous to your guitar teacher. Improves ability. The argument for "music therapy" is that it improves your outlook or mood, not makes you a better musician. I'm saying that there is nothing about "music therapy" that causes any measurable change that playing music won't accomplish.

Actually, it’s not. To take this modality’s effectiveness and those that have studied and knowledge to use it to help others makes it a ‘therapy’, it’s more than listening to and riding. Don’t belittle things you don’t understand.

"Effectiveness" <giggle> Show me a randomized blinded study that shows that an hour of music therapy causes better outcomes in any non-trivial dimension than jamming for an hour with your friends or with the local ukulele group, or, for that matter, listening to any "Taylor's version".

Do you not have a computer to find the research that proves it doesn’t.Not everyone has access, physically or otherwise for a “jam sesh” with friends. There are specific ways to use music therapy.I have seen it used with children with special needs and with TBI pts. Don’t belittle things u dont know

Insurance, waivers, or services in most states will not cover things like music therapy. This crap pisses me off because it gives people false hope. This is only for people with money who can afford pay for all the extras.
