It's a difficult balance. Strong privacy protections make published data safer, but they can also reduce its usefulness for research and public policy.

Never forget - The *only* data the US census Bureau is entitled to is the number of humans domiciled at an address. In more trustworthy times, I'd have been more generous, but everything is weaponized now and I've gotten a lot more stingy.
