NOT a "major breakthrough". This is nothing but a 60 day cease fire with no other agreements in place. All issues are still unresolved and Israel will never accept Iran's terms. Can we stop coddling the toddler in chief and admit that his failures are representative of his incompetence?

How is this a major breakthrough? The Strait of Hormuz was not closed prior to the WAR with Iran and it sure wasn't the reason for going to WAR with Iran. ~ Please enlighten us with why we went to WAR with Iran?! 😒

* The "Vietnam quagmire" refers to the U.S. entanglement in a prolonged, unwinnable war, characterized by incremental escalations, faulty intelligence, and an inability to exit without losing credibility. { Trump's Iran War, is the Strait of Hormuz "Quagmire". } *

"The agreement extends the current U.S.-Iran ceasefire for 60 days." If that's true, then we can probably expect attacks similar to others we've seen in the current ceasefire. We seem closer to an end to the conflict only as a side-effect of the passage of time.

OK wait a freaking minute, "Major Breakthrough????????" u can totally go FUCK ur raggedy ass self NPR, in very subtle way u are kissing the ring, and we are noticing, call it like it is, u know better than that, he fucked up and that deal is a huge piece of shit waste of money!

“Deal”??? This isn’t a deal. The US spent $1B per day, risked and lost lives of military personnel, increased gas prices for all Americans…for what? Nothing. This is embarrassing for this country. Don’t call it a deal.

Let's wait a little while before calling this a "major breakthrough" as already there are conflicting reports of just what was agreed to by the Iranians. Also let's not forget the role Israel plays in this if an agreement can actually be had.

It's a memorandum of understanding or M.O.U. until all the parties actually make good upon the specifics. Especially, the end of Israel's genocide on the people of Lebanon. Reparations can't be had for damn near everybody but the descendants of the Middle passage chattel slavery. But that's...

What deal, NPR? Is there a signed document? Have you seen the actual agreement? Why do you keep parroting what Trump “said” and treat it like it like it’s written in stone!? Why NPR!? 🤦‍♂️🫠

The “deal” is a desperate attempt at a propaganda coup before his big boy birthday party and any “news” organization that doesn’t point that out has failed at their job.

I am not sure it was a “breakthrough,” NPR. The Iranians have always held to their key unnegotiable positions throughout this travesty. Our “American” team of non-diplomat Trump stooges is simply too stupid to recognize plain facts and know how to deal with them.

Apparently Iran is getting $300 billion. At best we get what we already had with the Obama deal (which was working and verifiable) before Trump tore it up and started a useless, expensive war. It has done nothing but damage to us and the rest of the world.

That federal defunding must've kicked in 'cause this article teaser is so fraught with tepid language. How can it be a major breakthrough when nothing has been agreed to or signed? It's not a conflict, it's a war. And the Middle East didn't spontaineously combust into flames.
