Like all migrants, Vikings get a bad rap. They introduced good law, trade, numerous technologies, and new genes to peoples bereft of them all.

Again, you're thinking of the stereotype of "rape and pillage." Vikings who married into local populations did bring a fresh set of genes to communities who had stagnant gene pools due to isolation and various other problems. Not a racist idea, just based on historical evidence and good science.

I refer to DNA studies that show differences between male and female genetic changes in populations. The Vikings didn't bring their women on the first trip to town, and they didn't come in peace. It's a stereotype with some basis in evidence

They were good little boys and girls..except the ones they banished. They were the ones who moved on to discover North America,,I think it was Erik the Red who was a psycho-path.. bad temper..off to New Found Land ya go!

"Viking" is the wrong word to describe these people. What we call "Vikings" were less of a "race" or nation of scandinavia/nordic people and more of a seasonal job that evolved it's own culture and myths. Men from the northern tribes would "go a-Viking" to the south and raid coastal towns.
