This is an ISSUE where the SHORT-SIGHTEDNESS of our Congress may come to bite us! Our politicians plan in 2/4/8 year cycles. China and Russia plan in 20 year cycles! Russia operates a total fleet of 42 icebreakers, which includes 8 nuclear-powered vessels and 34 diesel-electric icebreakers.

China, who is farther from the Arctic, has 5. The US? 1. That is ONE! Is it because the GOP doesn't believe in Climate Change? Is it because we plan in short term political cycles? Could it be that our GOP Congress is just plan stupid? Or is it because they won't be around when the shit hits?
